Poetic Pastimes:Surface Design for Silk Scarves Using Japanese Imagery

Saturday and Sunday April 14 and 15,2011

Work with a variety of surface design techniques to create "art" silk scarves while using design imagery derived from the Musuem's latest exhibition - Poetic Pastimes:Japan and the Art of Leisure. Paint, stamp, or use resist techniques to creat beautiful silk scarves to wear, sell, or give as gifts. Use stencil images made from a thermofax machine to create detailed, printable photographic images in seconds. Two scarves are provided and additional scarves will be available  for purchase from the instructor. Dyes will be used to creat original and wearable works of art.
